I have been fortunate over the last 20 years to meet and work with some incredible trainers and handlers. The following people are true professionals and have graciously agreed to have their names stand on this site as references to the structure, health, suitability, temperament and trainability of our dogs at Goldenghost Kennels, while more will be added as consent is received: Rudy Drexler's School For Dogs, Inc. has trained hundreds of dogs for law enforcement, industrial security, private security and personal protection. Established in 1964, the facility is known worldwide for providing affectionate and trustworthy working dogs, using proven humane training methods and development of a handler training curriculum that is unmatched in thoroughness and success. Rudy Drexler's School For Dogs, Inc. maintains affiliates in Canada, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands. Follow the link below for details: http://users.aol.com/Drexlers/Dogs.html We have supplied 3 dogs to Rudy Drexler over the past 10 years or so as detector dog candidates and while the details of their assignments are not available for the public due to security concerns we have been assured that they are doing very well indeed. E-mail Rudy at: RudyDrexler@aol.com or fax a request for a reference on our breeding to Rudy's attention at (574) 266-4131. Pat Coulter When not enjoying the balmy west coast heli skiing, sea kayaking or on a canoe trip to a wilderness outpost in the Arctic, Pat is a successful Avalanche Rescue dog trainer situated in Whistler B.C. in the winter and Tofino, Vancouver Island B.C. in the summer. Under stringent R.C.M.P. guidelines for enforcement dog training and testing criteria co developed in conjunction with the provincial authority (Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog Association) Pat has enjoyed success in Canada, the U.S. of A and international events extending as far away from home as Europe. Pat first bought "Storm" from us a number of years ago and trained and worked her actively until 2000 when she officially retired due to age. He was so pleased with our breeding he has started a 2001 pup from us "Sassy" and is very pleased with the way she is working out for a young dog. Messages left for Pat in regard to a reference on our dogs will be answered as soon as he is able. Telephone (250) 725-3232. The following people did not acquire their dogs from me but rather brought their dog to me for training and have offered to leave a standing reference on this site on my ability to field and obedience train dogs for others who may not have the time, knowledge or grounds to train themselves. More will be added as permission is received. Dr. Lynn Tanner 407 33 Ave S. W. Calgary Alberta (403) 287-2163 "Buster" is a US bred Golden Retriever male who was brought to me at just over a year old for formal obedience and hunting training. He is now a very experienced flushing and retrieving dog and a loyal companion who is a pleasure to hunt with and watch. Mr. Cam Fraser Calgary, Alberta (403) 781-7108 Cam brought me a Canadian bred female Labrador retriever from proven field trial stock for control, obedience and field work. Initially "Dixie" displayed little interest in retrieving which was changed in a matter of weeks through positive reinforcement training. She became a very eager companion and hunting dog.
