Why I don't hunt in Texas. Apparently someone was having problems with sheep disappearing so put up an electric fence. When they made the rounds the next day this is what they found. don't know where it was taken (looks like a Burmese python), but I know I am not hunting there!!!!!

Look at the dental work on that baby!!!!

I have the greatest respect for the grizzly and whether hunting sheep in the Mckenzie mountains of the North West Territories or caribou on the tundra or elk in the Rocky mountains have managed to give them a wide berth whenever we encountered them. never seen one at under 300 yards and would like to keep it that way.

A friend just sent me some pictures (December 2 2007) of a bear that was hit by a transport truck on highway 40 south of Grande Prairie Alberta recently. A Calgary hunter was just killed by one near Sundre Alberta in the past week so they are a hot topic here with no hunting season for them anymore and numbers and human encounters on the rise. A high power rifle at close range would appear to be a limited defence against the size and formidable claws of an adult grizz. Just best to avoid them altogether.
