Kitchen, hallway and yard work (obedience)

Many commands may be learned in small space areas which restrict movement and thus avoid distractions or the opportunity to focus on other activities. Often a hallway, with all the doors closed is perfect for the dog has no choice but to stay at the end or come back to you (with praise).

In the home is ideal for you have more control and it is easier to direct the dog to a proper response.

A command should never be given unless you are in a position to direct the dog to a proper response. This is critical in the teaching phase.
