My first attempt at creating a cork style bird with texturing paste used on side pockets to comb/scratch vermiculation where hand painted vermiculation is not allowed in a "service" (hunting) decoy.

This is also the first bird whereby painting was done 75% or more with an airbrush.

Waiting to cure paint before sealing and permanently attach the keel after balancing.

This bird has been donated to B.C. a carver in South Carolina whose sister is waging a courageous battle against cancer. A fund raiser including a raffle and possibly an online auction of donated carvings with  many D.C.F. carvers contributing a working bird will be held in the near future. This is still in the planning stage at this time (May 2005) so a link will be posted to the auction/raffle site when it is known.

Please support this great cause.
